Little Gulls

Every now and again you see something and you don't really believe it .Today I was out walking the dog and could see a flock of Gulls coming over the local wood and heading low over the fields. Initially thought BH Gulls strange to see so many at this time of year here. They looked very black and white as they came nearer I could see the under wings were dark and the hoods were black...LITTLE GULLS.....wtf.... I counted 18 but there could have been 20+ as I did not have my bins ,it  was over in a flash as they headed off NNW ...I did not see any Ist winters and  all looked like adults a flash of black and white over and away  . Looking on birdguides there has been an massive influx inland over the last few days with large flocks seen all over the country including 70 + at St Aidens last night !!!!!!!!!!!.....what luck.... : )) its also the first time I have found Little Gull (183) in Calderdale seen a few but never found them...: )) A Red Kite over the house on 18th and a couple on Linnets back in the local fields today...
