Books!!
In the early days of looking for long eared owl breeding sites, nick d said he'd read in a book that they don't breed if a tawny owl is nearby, so one evening we checked a site a tawny owl flew out of the plantation and landed on a fence post that's it we thought no Leo's! Next minute a Leo flew out and knocked the tawny off the post!!
Unbelievable great evening

Great photos Andy
