Red Kite

Had a very lucky Red Kite on the 20th at Jay House lane , I had been there at lunch time looking for Med Gulls with no luck and then I had to drop my lad off at Golf just up the road and just as I drove along jay house lane one flew low south..☺☺☺Also had my first Buzzard over the local wood for a few weeks which is a good sign..................

 Went to Nosterfield CP with Nick D to catch up with this beauty , also present breeding Avocet , 3 Black tailed Godwit , 100 + Curlew / Lapwing  , LRP , RP , Common Sand , 2 Common Tern , Redshank and Brimstone butterfly...... (picks by NCD above and Glyn  Sellors below thanks guys)

House Sparrows



An excellent year for House Sparrows with a flock of 25 (mainly juvs ) on a bird table behind our house and up to 15 in and around Hedge top lane.

Four  new moths for Northowram recently with  Beautiful Hook Tip , Clay triple lines , Common Emerald and Pine Carpet , nice to have a bit of time at home. Also very good news from the Mull moth recorder confirming that the Catoptria furcatellus was the first confirmed record for Mull....One old record is mentioned but with no details................
