Well what a good couple of days .I was watching a pair of Kestrels displaying yesterday high above Chelsea Valley 3 Buzzards and 2 Sparrowhawks were up with them at one point .A single BHgull and single LBBGull headed west and then out of nowhere a Red Kite went west...smart
This morning a single Chiffchaff was in the tall hedge and a Wheatear was in the field.....Also lots of Meadow Pipits and Chaffinch going north mixed in with them 1 Bullfinch and 5 Siskin....
BUZZARDS ......I had fourteen sightings today including 2 sat on the local Pylon...see pic....

Wednesday
A single Curlew flew round the fields first thing this morning( the first for a few years now).2 Skylarks , 3 meadow pipit , 2 Pied Wags north and 2 LBBGulls and 3 Common Gulls west...Plenty Sparrowhawk activity today with male and female seen along the street...
2 Ringed plover , 2 Raven , 2 reed Bunts , lapwing , Curlew , Golden plover , Mipits , 6 Lags at fly yesterday

Spring migrants at last..
2 Skylarks, 3 Linnets and 3 Meadow Pipits in the fields this morning along with a Fieldfare having a scrap with a Magpie?? 6 LBBGull and 2 Herrings west. .1 male Goldeneye , 2 great crested and 4 Little Grebes in and around EGP with 4 + Goosander on the River. 3 singing Chiffchaffs along the river . After the floods there looks to be loads of Sand Martin nesting places along the river....Fingers crossed ....

Hodbarrow Area
Another few hours spent in and around Hodbarrow RSPB Cumbria . The best bird of the day and one I have not seen for a few years was a cracking Hooded Crow soon followed by a Yellowhammer and 16 +little egret ,On the lake itself were plenty of Goldeneye , Pochard , Teal and Tufties. Twite , Great Northern Diver , Eider , Slavonian Grebe , Greenshank , Dunlin , Turnstone and 6 Black tailed Godwits ...
More Siskin
2 displaying Siskin on the road was a mega this week. Watched for about 15 minutes on and off zipping around the conifers and larch. Greenfinch displaying flight and song , 3 different Mistle Thrush holding territory and two Song Thrush belting it out. 10 Stock Dove in the fields and Buzzards sightings are now daily down the valley.
